A young man, whose teen love is struck down with polio, is motivated to become doctor and seek the cause of disease. He discovers that a blood infection may be the cause. This theory is runs contrary to current scientific understanding. His method of treatment is to reduce the infection in the blood and many people have recovered following his treatment. A cancer patient seeks his help but stops the treatment, returning to hospital care doing surgery and later dies a year later. Her father blames it all on the doctor and begins a vendetta with the help of an organisation known to be highly critical of this kind of approach. The authorities remove his doctor’s licence. After a decade of campaigning against the doctor, the father and the ‘sceptic movement’ use a radio programme to provoke a threat of prosecution.
